What is Bilberry with Lutein (Bilberry Dry Extract Standardized/Lutein/Zeaxantin) used for?

Bilberry Extract is a natural remedy that is used to maintain or improve eye health and vision. It is extracted from the bilberry fruit. Bilberry extract was used during World War II by pilots to improve their night vision and has been a popular treatment since then. Bilberry with Lutein also contains Lutein which has an antioxidant effect, a screening effects and a an absorbing effect. When combined, Bilberry and Lutein have been used in cases of myopia, diabetic and hypertonic retinopathy, disorder of vision adaptation to darkness, dystrophic retina disease, macular degeneration of retina and cataracts. It works by improving photoreceptor functions, protecting the retina and lens from free radicals induced by light, and by screening and absorbing blue light from central zone of retina.

How should I use Bilberry with Lutein (Bilberry Dry Extract Standardized/Lutein/Zeaxantin)?

Each pack of Bilberry with Lutein has 20 capsules. The contents of each capsule are standardized anthocyanidins (44.25 mg), lutein (6 mg), and zeaxantin (1.2 mg).

Most people will take one capsule taken two to three times daily as a starting dosage and then reduce this to one capsule daily as a maintenance dose.

Bilberry with Lutein can interfere with blood clotting. People who are on medicines that can affect platelet aggregation (aspirin, warfarin, NSAIDs) should only use this product under advice and supervision from their doctor. People with bleeding disorders such as peptic ulcers should also use with care and under medical supervision.
