What is Zipsydon (Ziprasidone) used for?

Zipsydon (Ziprasidone) is an oral anti-psychotic medication used to treat patients suffering from schizophrenia or to treat manic episodes caused by bipolar disorder. It operates by balancing levels of naturally occurring chemicals in the brain to prevent symptoms such as racing thoughts, paranoia, disorganized thinking, or agitation. Your doctor may prescribe this medication along with others or for the treatment of other unlisted conditions.

How should I use Zipsydon (Ziprasidone)?

Always follow the directions provided by your doctor while using Zipsydon (Ziprasidone) to get the safest and most effective results from treatment. The normal dosage is one tablet administered daily, but your particular instructions will be determined by your age, weight, current health, the condition being treated, and the severity of your symptoms. These should be swallowed with a large glass of water and may be taken on an empty stomach, but a meal or snack is recommended prior to use if you experience nausea. Do not change the form of the tablets by splitting or crushing them as this may destroy or alter the effects of their contents. Ask your pharmacist or doctor any questions you have about the medicine to ensure the correct usage.

What are the side effects of Zipsydon (Ziprasidone)?

Some patients using Zipsydon (Ziprasidone) may experience side effects such as:

  • Headache
  • Dizziness or drowsiness
  • Coughing or sore throat
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Muscle pain or tremors
  • Unusual weight gain
  • Anxiety or insomnia
  • Mild skin rash

Serious side effects that may occur are faintness, sores appearing in or around the mouth, fever, flu symptoms, irregular heartbeats, severe agitation, increased thirst, increased urination, or a painful erection lasting more than four hours. These conditions may require lower doses or reduced frequency of administration to prevent further health complications from occurring.

Please Note

Zipsydon (Ziprasidone) should not be used by patients who have heart failure or a history of heart attacks. Also inform your doctor if you have a history of seizures, a history of suicidal thoughts, a history of blood disorders, a history of strokes, difficulty swallowing, Parkinson`s disease, Alzheimer`s disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, seizures, or reduced liver or kidney function. These conditions may cause unexpected health problems requiring special alterations to your treatment.

Strictly use Zipsydon (Ziprasidone) as prescribed and follow all instructions provided by your doctor. Safe, suitable, and optimum dosage can vary and is dependent on the patient`s health and medical history, as well as the condition you are treating.

Zipsydon (Ziprasidone) may not be safe or suitable for all patients. Always ensure your doctor is informed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, using any other type of medication (including non-prescription medicine, vitamins, and supplements), as well as if you have any allergies, other illnesses, or pre-existing medication conditions.

Seek immediate medical attention or proceed to your nearest accident and emergency department if you suffer a hypersensitive or allergic reaction. Symptoms usually present during a reaction of this nature include difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling of the limbs or face, tight chest, hives, and skin rashes.
