What is Arcolane (Ketoconazole) used for?

Arcolane is a medicated shampoo containing the active ingredient ketoconazole. It is used to treat dandruff - itching, scaling and flaking of the scalp. Arcolane can help reduce these symptoms. Medicines that treat male pattern baldness such as finasteride and dutasteride work better on a clean scalp. Arcolane can help keep the scalp in optimum condition for hair loss treatment.

How should I use Arcolane (Ketoconazole)?

1. thoroughly wet the scalp and hair
2. apply a small amount of Arcolane shampoo into the palm of your hand
3. massage and lather shampoo into hair and scalp, covering all areas
4. rinse the shampoo out of your hair with warm water
5. repeat above steps if advised by your doctor
6. dry the scalp and hair

What are the side effects of Arcolane (Ketoconazole)?

You may experience some irritation of the scalp while using Arcolane shampoo and may develop a rash or pimple-like bumps on the scalp. The scalp may also become dry or oily. If you notice any signs you may be allergic, discontinue using Arcolane and contact your doctor.

Please Note

Arcolane is an anti-dandruff medicated shampoo. It is not suitable for use as a regular shampoo.

If you are allergic to anti-fungal medicines, do not use Arcolane (ketocaonazole).
